Kitimat-Haisla Primary Care Network (PCN) Coordinator
FTE: 1.0 FTE (Full-Time) 37.5 hours a week, remote work from home.
Wage: $30.00/hr.

Position Overview
Reporting to Regional PCN Manager, the PCN coordinator supports the collaborative partnership and PCN implementation of goals established by the Kitimat-Haisla PCN Steering Committee in providing culturally safe, team-based care by health professionals within the communities of Kitimaat Village and Kitimat. The PCN Coordinator brings a wealth of administrative support expertise to the Kitimat-Haisla Primary Care Network Steering Committee and the operational Service Plan for the PCN. As approved by the Ministry of Health and the Family Practices Services Committee, this position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing assigned related activities. You will be working closely with the Haisla Health Director to ensure the accurate support for the Haisla Health Centre and the community.
The PCN Coordinator brings a wealth of coordination supports to the Kitimat-Haisla PCN implementation team. Following the vision set by the Kitimat-Haisla Primary Care Network Steering Committee and the operational Service Plan for the PCN.
Major role responsibility:
As directed by the Kitimat-Haisla PCN Co-Chairs including the Haisla Health Director, the PCN Coordinator administratively assists with reporting requirements of the Kitimat-Haisla PCN, and supports the PCN partnership. In addition, the PCN Coordinator provides administrative support to the PCN Steering Committee, and other PCN related committees as assigned.
Major role responsibilities:
- Provides support to the PCN steering committee and other committees as assigned on projects and initiatives.
- Supports the development and implementation of project work plans, including the coordination of project activities, and identifying strengths and gaps related to the implementation of the PCN.
- Preferred knowledge and understanding of Haisla Culture and values and impacts of colonization or a willingness to learn.
- Supports member and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Organizes and facilitates meetings; works with the partners on agenda setting, prepares and distributes meeting material, identifies, tracks, and follows up on action items.
- Provides reports on PCN implementation activities and outcomes and communicates progress of the PCN as directed by the Kitimat-Haisla Co-Chairs.
- Develops resources for members and the public, including manuals, communication briefs, and emails.
- Collaborates with colleagues to streamline and optimize operational processes and
- Works closely with the PCN evaluation team to coordinate PCN data collection. This includes gathering timely data collection to meet Primary Care Network requirements.
- Ability to adapt to changing workload priorities, effectively reprioritizing or deferring tasks in line with operational and strategic goals.
- Applies prior knowledge, models, tools, and techniques to analyze and deeply understand issues and recognize connections, patterns, and trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Zoom – motivated to learn new skills as necessary.

Preferred Education, Training and Expertise:
- Strong understanding of cultural safety and humility
- 3-5 years administrative support experience
- Administrative Support Certificate/Medical Office Assistant/or similar education or experience in a field related healthcare (or a combination of relevant education and work experience)
- Has a reputation of achieving excellent results in primary care settings.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, work effectively with deadlines, and balance work priorities in a changing healthcare
- Expertise in creating trusting working relationships with others, brings out the best in others and is not afraid to ask for
- Dedicated to continuous cultural learning and to lifelong
- An understating of finance and invoicing
- Skilled at navigating a variety of personalities and social circumstances – knows when to adjust communication styles to meet the emotional state or cultural climate with an understanding of the dynamics within a practice team, or committee.
Working Conditions:
- Full Time, Hybrid – Remote/In community as needed, 37.5 hrs/week.
- Ability to accommodate some evening and early morning meetings.
- Ability to travel to meetings in the community of Kitimaat Village and Kitimat when needed.
