Through an initiative called CAPES (Cutting Administrative Processes with Efficient Solutions), the Pacific Northwest Division of Family Practice is working to minimize the time and effort physicians spend on non-clinical tasks—such as paperwork, billing, and navigating complex healthcare systems. These administrative demands are a major contributor to physician burnout and can negatively affect patient care by reducing face-to-face time with patients and increasing the risk of errors. CAPES aims to create meaningful, practical solutions that allow physicians to focus more on what matters most: caring for patients.
